Fig Cake Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 10 dried figs
- 2 cups flour
- Grated zest of 1 lemon
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 1 package of vanilla
For greasing cake tin:
- 1 tablespoon butter
Tips for Making Fig Cake
In order to prevent dried fig pieces from sinking to the bottom and burning, add them to the cake batter after lightly flouring them. Pour it into a tin after stirring lightly with a wooden spoon.
Baking Suggestion
We add small diced green apple to the cake batter, you can do the same, too.
How to Make Fig Cake?
- Dice the dried figs which give the main flavor to the cake small.
- Beat the eggs and granulated sugar in a deep bowl with a whisk until frothy.
- Add olive oil and milk and continue to beat.
- Sift the flour and add it bit by bit. Add the vanilla and baking powder to the mixture.
- Stir the cake mixture to mix together.
- Add granted lemon zest to give a pleasant smell and cinnamon to adjust the sugar balance a bit.
- Flour the diced figs. Add them to the cake batter after sifting the excess flour. Stir the mixture lightly with a wooden spoon. Now, it is ready to bake.
- Grace the cake tin with butter. Pour the mixture into the tin. Hit the tin once or twice on the counter so that it can rise evenly and bubbles are removed.
- Bake in the preheated oven at 170 degrees until it rises and browns. Serve it with coffee to make it even more delicious after slicing. Share it with your beloved ones.
